Forest Walks Lodge offers eco friendly accommodation in a hidden valley near Deloraine on the edge of the pristine Tasmanian wilderness. The eco-lodge is surrounded by mountains, forest and wildlife, an easy drive from Hobart and Launceston and on the way to Cradle Mountain. From the door you have immediate access to spectacular wild forests, valley floor streams and views of the surrounding mountains and World Heritage Area. We offer a complete package of guided walks, fine food and Tasmanian wines, together with our accommodation. The perfect getaway for a celebration occasion.

Three spacious bedrooms with mountain views are available for a two-night visit or longer. Forest Walks Lodge is a modern architect designed, solar passive house, built with your comfort in mind. All meals are offered in house using local and organic ingredients where possible. 24 Hour reception is available for late arrivals or early departures.

Our experience has shown us that a two day visit will provide you with the best opportunity to acquaint yourself with the local wildlife and maximise the benefits of relaxing in such a peaceful environment. A longer stay will enable you to explore the surrounding environment and make the most of the walks and other activities the valley has to offer.

We offer a range of guided walks to suit different interest levels and physical abilities. There are also many more great walking destinations within close proximity. There is a flyfishing stream on the property. Cycling, fly-fishing or canoeing on Huntsman Lake are also potential activities. A day drive to Cradle Mountain takes you across the upper Mersey and Forth rivers through beautiful mountain scenery. Return on the gourmet food trail.

Forest Walks Lodge is located in the valley of Jackeys Marsh on the Great Western Tiers in Northern Tasmania not far from Launceston and Devonport airports and the historic township of Deloraine.

Since the valley retains the heritage landscape values of the 19th century a visit is like a journey back in time to a simpler age with all the comforts of the modern era.
